Dear Diary

Dear Girl Ganger,

I write today to personally ask for your assistance and interest in potentially supporting a NYMF General Partner Event presentation of our show Girl Gang playing at Atlantic 2 in Chelsea September 22-30. To make this happen we need your help.

Specifically we are looking for NFP donations to Sacred Noise Society, our umbrella organization. Simple really, and any increment would be considered to help move our set from LA, have it repainted, pay the rehearsal accompanist and wardrobe coordinator, anything that makes a show tick. You can be involved as little or as much as your talents and checkbook are able. Here is our timeline and business forecast for your perusal:

  • 2003 Played in North Hollywood weekends from February 14- May 28. We garnered 3 ADA awards nominations, receiving two.

  • 2004 Played Fringe NYC at the Lucile Lortel Theatre, garnering great reviews and attention from their organization encouraging us to return.

  • 2005 Gala Fundraiser hosted by Jill Clayburgh at Hollywood’s Barnsdall Art Park. Raised our seed money to retain General Management (Martian Entertainment) and form our LLC and writers agreement. (Ben Feldman, Esq.)

  • 2006 Backers or Staged Reading 3 Performances at Dodger Stages/New World.

  • 2007 General Partner Event with the NY Music Theater Festival at Atlantic 2.

  • 2008 Regional Presentation.

  • TBA Off-Broadway Presentation.

Our interested investors and backers and big ticket presenters really want to see the show on its feet. We also hope to present it to the half dozen regionals who have our materials with the idea of inviting more. More importantly this is for you our Girl Gang audience who has seen it or not and would like to experience it first hand in this brief pre-regional run.

If you or anyone you know is interested in helping us move our Girl Gang; this ‘Americana Three Penny Opera’ forward, feel free to have them contact us via phone or email. Thank you for your time and interest. I welcome all questions comments and concerns. I have learned so much in your company and hope to continue to do so.

It is smart, fun, creative, and entertaining, and has a strong message, just like all of you.

Respectfully yours,
Jaye Maynard and Mark Knowles
